16 stitches x 10 rows in gauge swatch stitch patt = 4″

Ch 17,
Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook, dc in next ch, *ch 5, sk 5 ch, sc in next ch, dc in next ch, rep from * one more time, turn.
Rows 2-11: Ch 1, *sc in next dc, dc in next sc, ch 5, rep from * one more time, sc in next dc, dc in next sc, turn.
Fasten off. Block swatch before measuring.

Row 3: Ch 1, *sc in next dc, dc in next sc, ch 2, rep from * across, ending with sc in last dc, dc in last sc, turn.

Row 4-7: Ch 1, *sc in next dc, dc in next sc, ch 3, rep from * across, ending with sc in last dc, dc in last sc, turn.

 

Row 8-9: Ch 1, *sc in next dc, dc in next sc, ch 4, rep from * across, ending with sc in last dc, dc in last sc, turn.

Row 10: Ch 1, *sc in next dc, dc in next sc, ch 5, rep from * across, ending with sc in last dc, dc in last sc, turn.

Row 11: Ch 1, *sc in next dc, dc in next sc, ch 5, rep from * 61 more times, sc in next dc, dc in next sc, turn, leaving the last 20 (sc, dc) sets unworked – 63 (sc, dc) sets.
