Materials:

Drew Emborsky Sarcastic (50% Peruvian Cotton/50% Tencel; 250 yds per 4 oz)
4 (5, 5, 6) skeins color Leisure Suit
H/8 (5mm) crochet hook
K/10.5 (6.5mm) crochet hook

Gauge: 11 sts / rows = 4” in extended single crochet and smaller hook Finished sizes: 36” (40, 44, 48)” bust

Finished sizes: 36” (40, 44, 48)” bust

Special Stitches:
Extended single crochet (ESC): Insert hook in speci ed stitch or chain, yo, pull up a loop. Yarn over, pull through one loop on hook, yarn over, pull through two loops on hook.
Treble stitch (TR): Yarn over twice, insert hook in speci ed stitch or chain, yo, pull up a loop. (Yarn over, pull through two loops on hook)x3.

NOTE: this is oversized on top but fitted through the waist and hips. Bust measurements are given for sizes, but a more accurate fit would be as a hip measurement.

NOTE: when fastening off, leave all tails approx 8” long for weaving in well, and in several cases, using them for joining pieces together.




Instructions:

Half Circle Motifs:

First Motif:
Row 1: Ch4, 8 dc in 4th ch from hook. — 9 dcs Row 2: ch3 (counts as dc), 2dc in same st, ch1, skip 1 st, 3dc in next st. Rep from * across. — 15 dcs
Row 3: ch1, sc in same st, ch7, skip 1 st, *1sc ea in next (st, ch1 sp, st), ch7, skip 1 st. Rep from * three more times, ch7, skip 1 st, sc in last st. — 5 ch-7 sps
Row 4: *in next ch7 sp work (sc, hdc, 2dc, 5tr, 2dc, hdc sc). Rep from * across.
Row 5: slst in ea of next 6 sts, ch3 (counts as dc), dc in same st, in next st work (2dc, ch3, 2dc), 2dc in next st, *ch3, skip next 10 sts, 2dc in next st, (2dc, ch3, 2dc) in next st, 2dc in next st. Rep from * to end.
Row 5: slst in ea of next 4 sts, slst into ch3 sp, ch6 (counts as dc, ch3), dc in same sp, *ch3, (tr, ch3 ,tr) in next ch3 sp, ch3, (dc, ch3, dc) in next ch3 sp. Rep from * across.
Row 6: slst into ch3 sp, ch1, sc in same sp, *(4dc, ch3, 4dc) in next ch3 sp, sc in next ch3 sp. Rep from * across. 5 (4dc, ch3, 4dc) shells. Fasten off, leaving long tail.




Second – Third Motif:
Rows 1 – 5: rep rows 1 – 5 of rst motif
Row 6: slst into ch3 sp, ch1, sc in same sp, *(4dc, ch3, 4dc) in next ch3 sp, sc in next ch3 sp. Rep from * across, except on last shell, replace ch3 with ch1, slst in adjacent motif’s ch3 sp, ch1.
Fourth Motif: rep rst motif
Fifth – Sixth Motif: rep second – third motifs. Fasten off, leaving long tails.
NOTE: motifs one – three complete the top of the back, and motifs four – six complete the top of the front.
Assembling front and back (see diagram):
NOTE: Front and back are joined together by making a ch5 with the long tails and slip stitching them to
the motif on the opposite side. Using the outside tail, *insert hook into last stitch and pull through the tail to create a loop on your hook, ch5, slst to edge of motif on opposite side, fasten off. Repeat from * three moretimes: between motifs and on the opposite outside edge.

NOTE: Rows 1- 9 are repeated for every curve between motifs to ll in the curved edge to create
a straight edge for working the remaining body in straight rows.
Row 1: working in the curve between motif 1 and 2, join with slst to the 2nd st from join, ch2, 2ESC in same st, 2ESC in next st, 2ESC in ea of next 2 sts on next motif, turn.
Row 2: ch2, 2ESC in rst st, 1ESC in ea of next 6 sts, 2ESC in last st, ch2, slst in ch3 sp on next shell on adjacent motif, turn.
Row 3: 2ESC in rst st, 1ESC in ea of next 8 sts, 2ESC in last st, slst in next ch3 sp on adjacent motif, turn.
Row 4: Ch2, 2ESC in rst st, 1ESC in ea of next 10 sts, 2ESC in last st, turn.

Front:

Row 30: skip rst 27 (24, 22, 19) sts, join with slst to next st, ch2 (does not count as a st), 1ESC in ea of next 43 (49, 53, 59) sts, ignoring rem of row. — 43 (49, 53, 59) sts
Row 31: ch2 (does not count as a st), 1ESC in ea st across. — 43 (49, 53, 59) sts
Rows 32 – 41- : rep row 31 ten more times.
Change to larger hook and rep row 31 29 times. Fasten off.
Back
rep rows 30 – 41 of front. Fasten off.
Sides:
Row 1: Join yarn with slst to last st on 15th row from bottom, ch20, slst to corresponding st on 15th row of front.
Row 2: ch19, slst to next st on back.
Row 3: ch19, slst to next st on front.
Row 4: ch18, slst to next st on back.
Row 5: ch18, slst to next st on front.
Row 6: ch17, slst to next st on back.
Row 7: ch17, slst to next st on front.
Row 8: ch16, slst to next st on back.
Row 9: ch16, slst to next st on front.

Block to finished measurements and let dry. Weave in loose ends.

Belt:
Row 1: Ch4, 3tr in 4th ch from hook.
Row 2: turn, slst in sp between 2nd and 3rd sts, ch4, 3tr in same sp.
Rep row 2 until desired length for belt.
