Ch 5, slip st to first ch to form ring.

Rnd 1: Ch 1, 8 sc in ring. Slip st to first sc. Using a small piece of contrasting yarn, mark Rnd 1 as right side. (8 sc)

Rnd 2: Ch 1, *(sc, ch 2, sc) in same space, sc in next st* 4 times. Slip st to first sc. (12 sc)

Rnd 3: Slip st into space. Ch 1, sc in same space. *Ch 5, sc in next ch1 space.* three times. Ch5, slip st to first sc. (4 sc and 4 ch5 spaces)

Rnd 4: Ch2, turn so wrong side is facing, 2 hdc in same space. *5 hdc in next ch 5 space. 3 hdc in next st.* three times. 5 hdc in next ch5 space. Slip st to top of beginning ch2. (32 hdc)

Rnd 5: Slip st into next st. Ch1, turn so right side is facing, sc in same st. *Ch5, skip 3 sts, sc in next st* seven times. Ch5, slip st to first sc. (8sc and 8 ch 5 spaces)

Rnd 6: Ch2, turn so wrong side is facing, 2 hdc in same space. *6 hdc in next ch5 space. 3 hdc in next st.* seven times. 6 hdc in next ch5 space. Slip st to top of beginning ch2. (72 hdc)

Rnd 7: Slip st into next st. Ch3, turn so right side is facing, (dc, ch2, 2 dc) in same space. *Ch1, skip 3 sts, sc in next st. (Ch 4, skip 4 sts, sc in next st) twice. Ch1, skip 3 sts (2dc, ch2, 2dc) in next st.* three times. Ch1, skip 3 sts, sc in next st. (Ch 4, skip 4 sts, sc in next st) twice. Ch1, slip st to top of beginning ch3. Fasten off.
