MATERIALS
Louet Gems Topaz Worsted Weight (Light) Machine Washable Merino Wool – Color shown: Indigo – Approximately 14 (14, 15, 16, 16) oz
The Crochet Dude Ergo Hook size H-8 (5mm) or size needed to obtain gauge Optional Novelty Yarn for Trim
GAUGE
18 sc X 8 rows = 4″
INSTRUCTIONS
Each panel incorporates the following pattern rows:
Row 1: Ch 2, turn *skip one st, dc in next three sts, dc in skipped st working behind the previous sts*. Repeat from * to * across. Dc in last st.
Row 2: Ch 1, turn, working in back loops only, sc in each st across.
Row 3: Ch 1, turn, working in front loops only, sc in each st across.
Row 4:Ch 2, turn, *skip one st, dc in next three sts, dc in skipped st working in front of the previous sts*. Repeat * to * across. Dc in last st.
PANEL A (make 2)
Row 1: Ch 51, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across. (50 sc)
Row 2: Ch 1, turn, sc in each st across.
Row 3: Repeat Row 2 – 1x (2x, 3x, 4x, 5x)
Work pattern rows
Row 5: Repeat Row 2 – 3x (4x, 5x, 6x, 7x) Fasten off.
PANEL B (make 2)
Row 1: Ch 163, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across. (162 sc)
Row 2: Ch 1, turn, sc in each st across.
Row 3: Repeat Row 2 – 1x (2x, 3x, 4x, 5x)
Work pattern rows
Row 5: Repeat Row 2 – 3x (4x, 5x, 6x, 7x) Fasten off.
PANEL C (make 1)
Row 1: Ch 75, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across. (74 sc)
Row 2: Ch 1, turn, sc in each st across.
Row 3: Repeat Row 2 – 1x (2x, 3x, 4x, 5x)
Work pattern rows
Row 5: Repeat Row 2 – 3x (4x, 5x, 6x, 7x) Fasten off.
PANEL D (make 1)
Row 1: Ch 63, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across. (62 sc)
Row 2: Ch 1, turn, sc in each st across.
Row 3: Repeat Row 2 – 1x (2x, 3x, 4x, 5x)
Work pattern rows
Row 5: Repeat Row 2 – 3x (4x, 5x, 6x, 7x) Fasten off.
ASSEMBLY & FINISHING
With wrong sides facing, whipstitch panels together as indicated by the chart below. (Note that panels A & B are attached at both the front and the back of the vest.)
