Ch 5, slip st to first ch to form ring.

Rnd 1: Ch1, 9 sc in loop. Slip st to first sc. (9 sc)

Rnd 2: Ch2 (counts as first hdc); hdc in joining space; 2 hdc in each st around. (18 hdc)

Rnd 3: Ch3 (counts as first dc); dc in joining space; 2 dc in each st around. (36 dc)

Rnd 4: Ch1, sc in backloop of joining st, and in backloop of each st around. (36 sc)

Rnd 5: Ch3 (counts as first dc); (dc, ch2, 2 dc) in joining space. *Ch 2, skip 2 st, 1 hdc in next four st; Ch2, skip 2 st, (2dc, ch2, 2dc) in next st. * three times. Ch 2, skip 2 st, 1 hdc in next four st; Ch2, skip 2 st, slip st to top of beginning dc. (16 dc, 12 ch2 spaces, 16 hdc)

Rnd 6: Slip st in next st, and into corner space. Ch2 (counts as first hdc); (hdc, ch2, 2 hdc) in corner space. * hdc in next 2 sts, ch 2, skip space, hdc in next 4 stitches, ch2, skip space, hdc in next 2 sts, (2 hdc, ch2, 2 hdc) in corner space. * three times. hdc in next 2 sts, ch 2, skip space, hdc in next 4 stitches, ch2, skip space, hdc in next 2 sts, slip st to top of beginning ch 2. Fasten off. (48 hdc)
